From applicant to accepted
For students applying this year, the biggest difference comes down to execution. We specialize in helping students craft and refine applications that admissions committees can’t ignore, while preparing students to deliver confident, polished interviews. We also provide targeted coaching for Casper and the PREVIEW exam, giving you complete readiness across every admissions milestone. Wherever you are in the process, we help you put forward the strongest possible application — right now, when it matters most.
Here are answers to the most common questions we get from students and parents 👇
Our team is led by physicians who have served on admissions committees at top 20 medical schools across the US. Together, they have designed and iterated our program around what they know committees value most. Students will work directly with these physicians, as well as a comprehensive team of residents and medical students. Each brings unique strengths: physicians provide high-level strategy, residents offer practical insights from recent experience, and medical students understand exactly what it takes to succeed in today's environment.
This approach mirrors how admissions files are actually reviewed by medical schools: not only by faculty, but also by residents and students on the committee. By working with our team across every level of training, applicants get the most realistic preparation possible — and the best perspective on how their applications will actually be evaluated.
Medical schools are among the most competitive programs in the world — many have acceptance rates of 5% or less. At this stage, it doesn't matter how strong your grades, test scores, or experiences are — if you can't communicate your story effectively, the strength of your profile won’t matter — you’ll simply be ignored. To get in, you'll need to demonstrate impactful clinical experiences, reflect on growth, and highlight qualities like integrity, humility, service, and leadership.
For this cycle, success comes down to execution. Application reviewers want to see experiences that are substantiated with clear outcomes and reflections, not vague descriptions. They also look for consistency across your written applications, your interviews, and even your references. A gap in one area can undermine the whole profile.
Our role is to make sure none of that gets left to chance. We help you structure, draft, and polish your application materials so they showcase only the best version of you. From there, we prepare you to communicate with clarity and confidence in interviews, while guiding you through situational judgment assessments like Casper and PREVIEW.
At the end of the day, admissions committees only see what you put in front of them — and we make sure what they see leaves no doubt that you belong in medical school.
Parents can have full access to everything — from student materials to our coaching team — but the level of involvement is completely optional. For families who want to stay closely involved, we’re happy to provide updates and include parents at every step. For students who prefer to work more independently, we can handle everything directly with them while keeping parents reassured that progress is on track. Ultimately, the level of parents' involvement is flexible and guided by the student and their family.
For students that work with us and follow all of our guidance, acceptance rates are as high as 96%.
At this stage, chances are you already (or will soon) have your final GPA, MCAT scores, and most of your activities ongoing or completed. The difference lies in how we help you execute your applications and communicate everything you've done to this point. With our team behind you, you’ll put forward the strongest possible application — giving yourself every chance to join that 96%.
Most admissions consulting companies operate like big corporations. They spend heavily on marketing, funnel families into generic programs, and treat students like numbers in a pipeline. At Scholr, we’ve built something completely different.
Our team is made up entirely of physicians, residents, and medical students — no career consultants, no “generalists.” Everyone who coaches here has been through the medical school admissions process themselves and knows what committees value most. We’re also highly selective: each year we receive hundreds of applications from prospective coaches, but only the top 5% are accepted and trained to join our team.
Furthermore, we focus exclusively on medical school admissions. While other firms spread themselves thin across law, dental, business, and more, we believe medicine is a unique pursuit and deserves a program built exclusively for it. That’s why everything we do is designed to prepare students for one outcome: acceptance into medical school.
Finally, we intentionally cap the number of students we work with each year to 300. Limiting enrollment allows us to give every student the personalized attention they deserve and ensures that quality never suffers. For us, success isn’t about volume — it’s about helping each student achieve their dreams as a doctor.
Our goal isn't just to help you with your applications and interviews - our goal is to make sure that all of that hard work actually lands you an acceptance letter. So, if you’re not accepted on your first try, we will continue working with you at no additional cost until you are. It’s our way of putting skin in the game - and ensuring our team is fully invested in seeing you through to a spot in medical school.
